After studying physics at the Universities of Freiburg and Göttingen, Mr. Hüppe began working in the field of intellectual property in 1990. In 1995, he joined the patent law firm later known as REHBERG HÜPPE + PARTNER as a German patent attorney and European patent, trademark and design attorney.

Mr. Hüppe's particular areas of technical expertise include vibration, measurement, medical, laser, microscopy, energy, plastics and process engineering technology, metallurgy and aerospace. One focus of Mr. Hüppe's work in advising and representing clients in intellectual property disputes is the evaluation of out-of-court conflict resolution options. Mr. Hüppe was a lecturer for patent law at the University of Applied Sciences Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen.

After graduating with a masters degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Hannover and a PhD at the Institute for Mechanics, Dr. Hinrichs started working in the field of intellectual property in a patent law firm in Bremen in 1997. Dr. Hinrichs then worked in the Intellectual Property Management of DaimlerChrysler AG in the technical fields of combustion engines, suspension systems and transmissions. Eventually, Dr. Hinrichs became the leader of the transmission team. He became a European patent, trademark and design attorney in 2001 and a German patent attorney in 2001. Since 2005 Dr. Hinrichs is a partner with the patent law firm of REHBERG HÜPPE + PARTNER.

Here, Dr. Hinrichs e. g. successfully represented his clients in a large number of opposition and nullity proceedings in front of the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG), the German Supreme Court (BGH), the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Boards of Appeal of the EPO.

Dr. Nikolaus W. Hinrichs is author and co-author of numerous scientific articles in the field of mechanical engineering, of the textbook "Keine Panik vor Mechanik" (Don't panic about mechanics) and of publications in the field of intellectual property, e.g. GRUR Int. "Zum Schutzbereich von US-Patenten: Festo und eine deutsche Sicht" ("On the scope of protection of US patents: Festo and a German view").

After studying physical engineering at the Universität Gesamthochschule Essen and earning her PhD in mechanical engineering at the Institut für Laseranwendungstechnik und Messsysteme at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum Dr. Horn worked as head of development for a manufacturer of high performance laser optics. In 2009 she began working in the field of intellectual property and completed her qualifications as German Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. After working for a patent law firm in Wuppertal for many years, she now promotes the team of REHBERG HÜPPE + PARTNER.

Dr. Horn's particular areas of technical expertise include optical measurement technology, laser applications, coating technology (PVD), vacuum technique and robot navigation. She has special expertise in the field of computer implemented inventions.
